Emergency assistance in heavy-rain affected areas of Hyderabad
Through the central Safa Baitul Maal, localities devastated due to the continuous rains in Hyderabad city were toured and relief provided. The relief team of Safa Baitul Maal went and provided relief in Allwyn Colony Kukatpally and Rasoolpura Begumpet where water had entered the houses. On the 21st of September, upon receipt of information that water has reached upto the height of four to five feet and people have been confined to first floors of houses, a four member team of Safa Baitul Maal reached Allwyn Colony with filtered water, food and milk packets and led by locals supplied food and ration door to door for two days. On Saturday, the 24th of September, the team visited Rasoolpura area abutting nala in Begumpet where water had entered houses, streets and lanes due to flooding of the nala; the team of Safa Baitul Maal reached the area and reviewed the situation and led by the locals distributed filtered water and food; likewise special assistance through ration and cash was provided to four extremely poor deserving households belonging to Rasoolpura. These relief services were conducted under the supervision of Moulana Syed Abdul Majid Rashadi, field officer of Safa Baitul Maal and assisted by Moulana Syed Ahmed Asadi, Hafiz Mohammad bin Sayeed, Hafiz Mohammad Mubashir and others. A sum of Rs.34100 was spent on these relief services in Hyderabad.
