Free supply of water in various districts of Maharashtra

The compassionate members of the community are well aware of the fact that Maharashtra and in particular the entire region of Marathwada had faced acute water shortage during summer and the region is drought affected as a result of lack of rains. The central president of Safa Baitul Maal has toured Latur and other areas many times during summer and water had been supplied free of cost in drought-affected areas of Marathwada. Five tankers were supplied daily in seven localities under the direct supervision of a team from the central Safa Baitul Maal i.e. 30000 litres of water was supplied daily free of cost; Moulana Syed Abdul Majid Rashadi, field officer, Moulana Syed Ahmed Asadi, Hafiz Mohammad Saber, Mohammad Akram Khan had been distributing water under their supervision. Water had been purchased from places 30-50 kilometres from Latur town and distributed to people irrespective of faith. This apart, water had been supplied through five tankers daily in Ghat Nandur and Dharmapuri in Beed district supervised by the central office incharge, Hafiz Shakeel-ur-Rahman Sahab and assisted by the local in-charge of Udgir, Moulana Naushad Qasmi. Through the central Safa Baitul Maal, three borewells have been installed in Juntur, Parbhani district. A total expenditure of Rs.380937 was incurred for supplying water in all these areas.
