Welfare services of Nanded branch

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, a session was held for the scholars in which, on the behest of Muslim Personal Law Board, it was decided to conduct meetings on social reform in all the talukas of Nanded. Twenty meetings have been conducted so far. Patients were enquired at the renowned Ashwini Hospital of Nanded. Ration worth Rs.1200 was supplied to 10 poor widow households and this process is recurrent for the past four months. Monthly pensions were issued to 2 destitute widows. After admissions in Safa tailoring centre, Farooq Nagar, training has been formally initiated. Admissions have been given to ten non-Muslim girls this time.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, monthly ration was delivered to the homes of poor widows and cash pensions were issued to destitute aged women. On completion of third batch at the Safa tailoring centre, public meeting was held and certificates were distributed to the students. Patients were enquired at Get Well Hospital Nanded and needed assistance was provided. Under the supervision of religious scholars, awareness campaign has been initiated in all talukas of Nanded, through which meetings shall be held in all talukas and lastly a large gathering of the entire district shall be held that shall be attended by the in charge persons of Personal Law Board. There shall be complete assistance of Safa during these gatherings.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, like each month, this month too, grains and pensions were provided to 10 poor widows. Assistance of Rs.3000 was provided for fees to a needy engineering student. Through admissions at Safa tailoring centre, Farooq Nagar, tailoring classes have commenced from 5th July.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, like each month, this month too, assistance through grains and cash was provided to poor widows and destitute women. Before the commencement of Ramzan, Ramzan ration was delivered after survey to about 200 poor households. The three-month long water serving service functional during summer has been terminated. Second batch has completed at Safa tailoring centre, Farooq Nagar. It has been resolved to establish Maktabs after Ramzan.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, in view of summer, 1000 litres of filtered and cool water is being served daily. On completion of the third batch at Safa tailoring centre, Kharakpura, certificates were awarded to 40 students. The performance of Farooq Nagar centre was reviewed. 50 kg rice was provided for the marriage of a poor girl. Assistance of Rs.2000 was provided for treatment to a deserving sick girl. In view of Ramzan, Ramzan ration packages were distributed to 200 poor households.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, in view of summer, 1000 litres of filtered and cool water is being served daily through Salsabeel-e-Safa at Government Ayurvedic College and hospital located in busiest area of Nanded, Vazirabad. Through this facility, apart from patients and attenders other people too are quenching their thirst.  This apart, water has been arranged in pitchers at Madinat-ul-Uloom highway and Maal Tekri Road. The last two months' performance of Safa tailoring centre, Kharakpura was reviewed. Embroidery course is beginning from 1st May at Safa tailoring centre, Farooq Nagar. After the completion of exams, a discussion programme was held for the students who received coaching at the study centre and their future ambitions were known. Ration for one month was delivered to the homes of 19 poor and deserving widows and cash pension was given to 2 poor widows. Consultation was held in connection with ration distribution in Ramzan.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, in view of summer, water facilities have been setup at compound of the Ayurvedic hospital of Nanded. Through this facility, the patients of the hospital and their relatives in addition to large numbers of general public are being benefited. A special camp was held before the annual exams of students receiving training at the study centre. Assistance through ration for a month and cash was provided to 13 poor widows and helpless women. On completion of first batch at Safa tailoring centre, Farooq Nagar, a grand certificate distribution meeting was held, in which there were speeches by scholars. On this occasion, there was a large gathering of general public and scribes. The performance of third batch at Safa tailoring centre, Kharakpura was reviewed. Alhamdulillah, an immense pleasure on these services of Safa was evident in the public.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, 25 people participated in the tenth annual training session and public meeting of the central Safa Baitul Maal. Food fees had been given to 2 deserving engineering students. Assistance through one-month ration and cash was provided to 13 poor widows and destitute women. Examinations were conducted for the students of study centre. Second batch has completed at the Safa tailoring centre Kharakpura; certificates were distributed in the presence of scholars and scribes. A gathering for women was organised at Safa tailoring centre, Farooq Nagar and the two month performance of the tailoring centre was reviewed. Consultations were held in connection with services to be performed during summer and it has been recommended to organise a public meeting next month in presence of the in-charge persons of the central Safa Baitul Maal.

Annual Report of Nanded branch

Since the day of inception, the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal is active in social, relief, welfare and reformative services. The Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal has become a renowned institution of the various services of scholars, Huffaz and imams of Nanded town. In a short span of time, the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal has acquired an equitable position both among the rich and the poor and in particular the representation of Safa in dispelling the misconceptions about Muslims in fellow countrymen has proved effective and supportive. The Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal has performed the following various relief and welfare services throughout the year:

During the month of Ramzan, Ramzan ration packages worth Rs.1200 each were distributed to 300 poor fasting people living in poor slum localities. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, sheer khorma material was distributed to widows, the disabled and impoverished people. Through Salsabeel-e-Safa, 2000 litres of filtered water was supplied daily for three consecutive months to patients and attenders at different hospitals. Likewise, considering the extreme heat during the summer season, water pitchers were setup at various public places and to quench the thirst of animals along with humans water was arranged in large tubs. Financial assistance was provided for treatment and operation to more than 15 people suffering from various fatal diseases. Partial assistance through cash, goods and edible items was provided for the marriages of 35 poor and needy girls. Through the Safa tailoring centres established to make poor Muslim women and girls self-reliant, 300 girls have received tailoring training and this skill has become a source for employment from home for many women among them. Two more tailoring centres have been set up in two slums localities of Farooq Nagar and Kharakpura.  To facilitate Quran recitation and orientation of important religious issues for the students of tailoring centres, a religious tutor was arranged in Madrasatul Safa Lil Banat. Food fee is being provided continuously for the past three years to 2 orphan students pursuing higher education. During Eid-ul-Azha, due to ban on slaughter of cattle in Maharashtra, middle class people were finding it difficult to perform Qurbani; hence at the behest of centre, Qurbani shares were booked in Nanded and the amount of 18 animals to central Safa Baitul Maal and that of 62 animals to Aurangabad branch of Safa Baitul Maal was despatched. Likewise through the money received from the centre, Qurbani of 5 animals was performed in Nanded, Hadgaon and Shivpuri and the Qurbani meat distributed to poor in the slums. Ration was supplied occasionally to the homes of patients distressed due to various fatal diseases, financially weak people and poor widows. Two study centres were established for educational development of children from poor and impoverished households where free education on all subjects is provided to students of tenth class. During winter season, blankets were distributed to needy students of three religious schools. In the month of Rabbi-ul-Awwal, on the direction of the centre, a public meeting entitled “Seerat-un-Nabi and service to humanity” was organised that was immensely successful. Two blood donation camps were held in order to provide timely blood for needy patients and 150 compassionate youth donated blood. Visiting five different localities, poor widows who had the responsibility of children were surveyed and from the month of January 2017, monthly ration is being provided to the homes of five widows. Sewing machine was bought for an unemployed person. Clothes were distributed to hundreds of poor belonging to various slum localities. It has been planned to start job-oriented courses and training centres for unemployed youth.

Through the Nanded branch of Safa Baitul Maal, widows belonging to various slums of Nanded like Bilal Nagar, Pakeeza Nagar and Sailab Nagar have been surveyed who had the responsibility of bringing up and educating their children and who had no source of help. A few well-off people were met to provide assistance to these widows. Insha Allah, monthly assistance shall be issued to 30 widows from among them. Monthly review of Safa tailoring centre and study centre was done. One more centre has initiated in Farooq Nagar area in which 40 women and girls are receiving tailoring training. On the 15th of December, a grand public meeting on Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW) was organised that was addressed by various distinguished scholars and a large gathering benefitted from the meeting. Rs.3000 was given as food fees to 2 poor students and assistance of Rs.2700 was provided for the marriage of a poor girl.
